The Milky way is a skier's paradise with mile after mile of scenic skiing for all abilities. The area is predominantly Italian, but also allows visitors to drop over the border into France.
With 400km of varied pistes, we are delighted to offer catered chalets in three resorts in the Milky Way – two in Italy and one in France.
Claviere and Sauze d’Oulx on the Italian side are only a short one hour’s transfer from Turin. Montgenevre is 1 3/4 hours from Turin, but of course you can ski between Italy and France, via Sestriere. This resort hosted all of the Alpine events in the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics.
Those Olympics led to many improvements in the Milky Way ski area, including snowmaking facilities and new high-speed lifts, as well as improved roads to and from the region.
The Milky Way offers holiday makers a mix of cultures, great value Alpine lunches (watch out for the ‘Bombardinos’ in Italy (coffee with brandy and advocaat) and a massive ski area.
