Kaprun

Kaprun has been one of the favourite Austrian resorts for several years now. Set at the foot of the breathtaking Kitzsteinhorn Glacier, it offers an excellent range of skiing, including high altitude skiing with guaranteed snow.  The lift pass covers both the Kaprun area and Zell am See, which is connected via a regular ski bus.

This resort appeals to a wide range of skiers.  Beginners can cruise around on the gentle nursery slopes beside the village centre before progressing to the blues of the Maiskogel and the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier.  Intermediate will have plenty to occupy them with the huge range of piste in the area whilst experts can really let rip in the glacier bowl and the viciously mogulled blacks in the region.  Kaprun has always been a great choice for boarders too thanks to the resort's great attitude towards snowboarding and the varied terrain.  Maiskogel now has some new rails and exciting kickers.

The sports centre is the pride of the village, with its heated swimming-pool, saunas, massage and spa pool, while skating, indoor tennis and squash courts are also available.  There is also plenty of action off-piste from lively bars and discos to the more quaint, rustic stubes.
