New lifts and pistes in La Plagne for winter 2013/14

There are several new lifts and changes in La Plagne – part of the Paradiski area – for this winter season.

Already one of the world’s largest ski areas, Paradiski links Les Arcs, La Plagne and Peisey Vallandry.

New four person chairlift

There is a new four person chairlift in the Les Bauches area, which links with the Montalbert telecabine.  Work started on this new lift in the summer and it should be ready to open by December 2013.   It replaces the old two person chairlift.

Two ‘new’ black runs

Two black runs also have been added to the piste map just below the Bellecote Glacier: the Bellecote and the Rochu.  They were previously on the piste map, but were removed because of poor conditions.  As people kept skiing them anyway (as off piste) their return means it will be possible to ski a vertical descent of 1300m from 3100m to 1800m

Eight person chairlift planned

Although this won’t come in time for this season, by December 2015, there will be a new 8 person chairlift to replace the Colossi chairlift and reduce the queues that can build up at the end of the day.
