We all love sledging and toboganning when we’re in the Alps, but back in the Sixties, sledging in La Plagne was slightly different!
Check out this action from the 2nd ‘World Snow Kart Championship’, held in La Plagne in 1969:
La Plagne has a long history of speed tobogganing events. In 1992, during the Albertville Winter Olympic Games, the resort hosted the bobsleigh and luge.
It’s still possible to experience these thrills as you can try them out at the Bob Experience, in a specially modified bobsleigh.
The full descent is 19 bends and 1500m vertical drop.
You can even try the luge if you are brave enough!
