Yes, you can ski in South Africa…!

Most people tend to think of Africa as a continent of deserts, but you can ski in several places in the continent.

The Atlas Mountains in Morocco are a possibility, but Tiffindell, on Ben McDhui in South Africa is the highest point in the country at 3001 metres above sea level.

High slopes + great snow cannons = snow!

Snow cannons and well-positioned slopes mean that the resort – located at 2720m – can guarantee snow for 100 days each year.

This video shows the snow cannons and grooming equipment preparing the resort:

The snow cannons can create up to 20cm of fresh snow in a day, and the resort can accommodate up to 150 guests at a time.

That’s another one for the Chaletline team’s bucket list then!
