Could you run 100m in ski boots in less than 17.65 seconds?

Meet Andre Ortolf. It’s fair to say that this German is an eccentric.

He’s also the current world record holder for the fastest 100m while wearing ski boots.

Holder of three world records

The 21 year old from Augsburg in Germany will be featured in the 2016 Guinness World Records Book for three different world records.

These include the fastest 100m while wearing clogs (16.27 secs), the fastest 100m while wearing ski boots (17.65 secs) and, to prove that he can’t be pigeon-holed, he also has set the furthest distance to blow a pea (7.51 metres).

‘Hot and uncomfortable’

Ortolf set the record earlier this year at the Ernst-Lehner Stadium in Augsburg, Germany.   He described the most difficult part about running in ski boots as ‘being very hot and very uncomfortable.’

Andre’s advice for anyone who wants to beat it is to ‘try it, try it and try it again’.

Could you set a new record?

The Chaletline team are sure there must be someone out there who can beat Andre’s record.

If you’d like to have a go, please let us know and we’d be delighted to sponsor you.  Best of luck!
