Les 2 Alpes Celebrates its new Blue Run

After 20 years of planning and €10m investment, on January 13 2016, Les 2 Alpes will officially open its new blue run back down into the resort.

A huge torchlight descent will take place to mark this official opening – on superb new snow.

The construction has taken place over the last two years, with over 10,000 trees replanted and more than 500,000 m3 of earth moved.

An easier return to resort

The new Jandri blue run offers a much easier return to the resort itself, something that has always been a bugbear to beginner and lower-intermediate visitors to Les 2 Alpes, who have often previously resorted to taking the lift back down.

It now means that skiers and snowboarders can go from a mighty 3600m from the glacier on a 2000m vertical descent all the way to the resort at 1600m – purely on easy pistes.

This will make the journey back to resort more accessible and safer for all.

New World Record?

The resort will attempt to break the torchlight descent world record on the official launch and will need 3000 skiers in total, descending at least 10km.

Watch out as well for various entertainment all day around the resort and on the slopes.

There will be a brass band playing on the Jandri run, between Les Cretes and the resort throughout the day.  At 11am, be sure to find a good spot to watch the spectacular aerial show.

Hot drinks and cakes will be served on the slopes and the day will end with fireworks and mulled wine.

Certainly a day not to miss and another great reason to choose Les 2 Alpes for your next chalet holiday.
