4 Exciting New Developments for Winter 2016/17

It’s now only a matter of weeks until the new ski season starts.  We’ve  been checking all the latest ski resort news…

1. Chamonix: New Parsa Lift

This autumn, the construction of a new detachable chairlift at the south facing area of Brévent in Chamonix will be completed to replace the old fixed-grip Parsa chairlift.

This new lift will make this whole area much more fluid for the beginner runs and for returning from Flégère to Planpraz at the end of the day. In the same area, the two existing drag lifts (the TK Stade and the TK 2000) will be replaced by one single drag lift.

2. Courchevel: New Handiski area

As well as boasting a cutting-edge ski area in terms of accessibility, from this season Courchevel will offer a dedicated handiski area with 12 specially-trained instructors.

The Courchevel Village, 1650 and 1850 French Ski Schools have joined forces to create a shared starting point in the Pralong quarter. The site was chosen for its ease of road access and terrain layout, as it is situated in a “ZEN zone” and served by two specially adapted ski tows, as well as a 6-seater detachable chair lift.
