Where can you ski this summer?

We might not have been able to ski last winter, but the good news is that the lifts in France have started to turn again for the summer.

Chamonix

Chamonix was the first resort where the lifts started again after the ‘saison blanche’ in France.

Capacity in the Aiguille du Midi cable car has been reduced to 50%, but some keen skiers were among the first to go up and take advantage of the excellent late-season snow conditions.

Les 2 Alpes

Skiing on piste is back on offer in Les 2 Alpes as of last weekend, when the glacier at 3600m opened for summer.

Val d’Isère

The Pisaillas glacier in Val d’Isère will follow soon and is due to open on June 12 for a month until July 11.

Tignes

Next to open for summer skiing will be Tignes, on June 19. The Grande Motte glacier has been prepared and has had excellent snowfall during May.

This is how it looked on Monday of this week:

It may be that travel for skiing this summer will prove too much of a challenge, but ski holidays for this winter 2021/22 are booking up fast already.
