St Martin de Belleville is a pretty Savoyard village in one of the largest ski areas in the world.  It is situated before Les Menuires on the road up from Moutiers and has a more relaxed atmosphere than any of the better known, purpose-built resorts in the Trois Vallees.  Nestling at 1400m, the village has a high-speed gondola and fast chair that make access to the whole of this vast ski area much quicker than in the past.

The exceptional choice of skiing on offer here will suit all types of skier. Intermediates are spoilt for choice with the large number of reds and blues. Advanced skiers will enjoy the extensive amount of ski touring and off piste that is available. The resort also benefits from being one of the furthermost points from the Courchevel and as such is pleasantly quiet on piste making it suitable for beginners

In fresh powder conditions the runs from the ridge back to St-Martin are some of the best in the region – acres of undulating pastures followed by tree-skiing.

There is a nice range of restaurants in the area, including the Michelin starred La Bouitte in neighbouring St-Marcel.  St-Martin’s nightlife is quiet but there are a couple of bars with good atmospheres.

WHAT'S new

New for 2017/18

Refuge le Trait d’Union will open next to the piste to the village from the top of the gondola. It is a ‘montagnette’ (a stone constrion typical of the Belleville valley) with three bedrooms where you can stay for 75 a night half-board. It will also be available for lunch. Snowmaking will be greatly improved and the local ‘snowmaking factory’ regenerated.

New for 2016/17

The popular Jerusalem red run from the mountaintop has beem remodelled to create more simple routes around the tricky bits. As a result, the run has been regraded blue.

New for 2015/16

A very fast six-pack replaced the increasingly overstretched St-Martin 2 fast quad, relieving queues at mid-mountain. Chalet operator The Alpine Club opened a third luxury property, a converted stable, a quick drive from St-Martin.
