7 Facts about the Courchevel Méribel 2023 World Ski Championships

Last week tickets went on sale for the World Ski Championships in 2023. This bi-annual event will be hosted jointly by Méribel and Courchevel in France’s Les 3 Vallées.

In this blog post, we look at some of the key numbers about these World Championships:

2 – The Ski World Championships happen every two years

3 – The World Championships have been held in France three times before: 1937 and 1962 in Chamonix and 2009 in Val d’Isère

6 – Athletes compete in six disciplines: Downhill, Super-G, Giant Slalom, Slalom, Combined and Parallel Slalom

12 – The event covers 12 days from 06 February 2023 through to 19February 2023

50 – Tickets to watch the racing are available from just €50

75 – Around 600 competitors are expected to take part from 75 different countries

20,000 – It won’t just be the racers contributing to the atmosphere, twenty thousand spectators are expected to attend the event
