Sauze D'Oulx

The Milky Way rates as one of Europe's best known ski areas. Sauze d'Oulx is one of the five villages which form the Milky Way and it needs little introduction to the many British skiers who return there year after year for the superb range of skiing, long hours of sunshine and wide range of apres ski entertainment.  Transfer coaches are not permitted in the resort centre. Luggage is transported to the hotels and guests walk through the village to their accommodation.

Sauze is in the middle of a natural amphitheatre and its three main skiing areas open up a wide range of runs particularly suited to the intermediate skier. An added bonus is the link up with the Milky Way ski circuit, over 400 kms of superb ski terrain. The slopes above Sauze itself are extensive and have something for everyone.  Most runs are pretty and wooded but there's also some fabulous open terrain.  Intermediates have more choice than strictly necessary here, but beginners should head up to mid mountain.  Experts, meanwhile, will be happiest in the Sansicario sector with a nice choice of blacks and plenty of off-piste opportunities.

Should you wish to take a break from the slopes, other activities are available, including iceskating and snowshoeing.  There is a beauty salon, a cinema and a market every Friday - just in time to stock up on goodies to take home.  The apres ski starts early and finishes late and the possibilities for non-stop nightlife in Sauze are many and varied.
