In the canton of Valais in Switzerland, close to the well-known resort of Zermatt, this traditional Alpine village offers access to over 100km of marked slopes . The absence of motor vehicles in the village - only electric taxis are allowed on the narrow streets - ensures a relaxing atmosphere that allows visitors to appreciate the wonderful views afforded by the elevated location. With most winter sports taking place between 2500-3500 metres above sea level, snow is guaranteed in this area; one of the reasons that it is so popular.
