Tignes Ski Chalets - Primary view

WESAY

Reliable snow, glacier skiing, and well linked to Val d'Isere in the Espace Killy area. A convenient resort but a little lacking in alpine charm.

Tignes

Tignes ski resort

Consisting of several villages, around which can be found a variety of nursery slopes, wide blue and red runs and challenging off-piste areas, this resort is ideal for skiers of all abilities and has plenty of snow almost all year round. The highest skiing takes place on the Grande Motte glacier, which is over 3500m above sea level and tended by experienced maintenance staff. There are plenty of places to stay in this area as you can see from the resort map for this part of Espace Killy, home to the best high altitude ski resorts in the French Alps.

Getting around

There are plenty of free shuttle buses in the area, making it easy for visitors to travel from one village to the next. The nearby resort of Val d'Isère is also popular with holidaymakers staying in Tignes and can be accessed by ski relatively quickly. Tignes enjoys an ever improving après-ski scene and is home to many excellent restaurants, cafés and bars. Getting around the resort itself is easy to do, with pistes that are ideal for intermediate skiers running from one end to the other. Despite the reputation this part of the French Alps has with tourists for luxury accommodation in convenient locations, it is still one of the cheapest European ski resorts.

Privacy and relaxation

Many people choose to stay in a hotel or chalet whilst here because it enables them to enjoy their break without having to worry about preparing meals and cleaning their room every day. Chalets tend to offer a greater degree of privacy and a little more flexibility rather than working around a hotel's schedule.  For those that enjoy private family holidays but would rather not cook or clean whilst they are away, the ideal solution could be one of the fantastic Tignes ski catered chalets that you can find on our site!
