Catered Ski Chalets in Andorra

So many British holidaymakers focus on the Alps and can miss out on skiing in Andorra.

Once known purely for its duty-free-fuelled après-ski scene, Andorra genuinely offers a superb alternative to the Alps.

Located in the Pyrenees, sandwiched between Spain and France, Andorra has some great views and excellent skiing.

The accommodation on offer has been upgraded significantly in recent years, as has the lift system.

There are two main ski areas – Grandvalira and Vallnord – which have pulled together what used to be an unconnected number of resorts.

Grandvalira includes the resorts of Soldeu, Pas de la Casa, El Tartar, Encamp, Canillo and Grau Roig and offers 210km of pistes.

Chaletline offer two catered chalets in Andorra, both in Soldeu.

The smaller Vallnord area is made up of Arinsal, as well as Paul and Ordino-Arcalis and has 93km of pistes.

In particular Andorra is a great place to learn to ski, with award-winning ski schools, many of whom are British.

And of course the duty-free status of Andorra does mean that there is a buzzing après scene with a big choice of bars and nightclubs.
