Catered Ski Chalets in Italy

A survey by the Post Office last year showed that Italy offered some of the best value skiing in Europe, with Sestriere, Cervinia and Selva all included in the top 10 best value resorts.

Large ski areas in Italy
Just because Italy is less expensive doesn’t mean it has less to offer.

There is a wide range of catered ski chalets in Italy, as well as half board hotels.  Great ski areas include the Sella Ronda or Dolomiti Super Ski (over 1200km of pistes) and the ‘Milky Way’ ski area, which offers 400km of skiing and snowboarding on piste.

A mix of the old and the new
There’s a real mix of the old and the new, and a trip to Italy can feel like much more of a ‘holiday’ than in large French resorts, which sometimes seem full of British skiers and snowboarders.

Whether you visit Cervinia, nestling in the shadow of the Matterhorn or a smaller, more traditional resort, such as Val di Fassa, so close to the Austrian border, Italian resorts have plenty to offer.

The Turinese and Milanese head to resorts like Courmayeur and Cortina at the weekend and they offer fine dining and nightlife as good any you’ll find in Europe.

And ice-cream too...
As well as great pizzeria and trattoria, every holiday to Italy – even in the middle of winter – is incomplete without a visit to a ‘gelateria’ for some Italian icecream – a bonus no other country can match!
